Hurricane Irene has Passed

Well, Hurricane Irene has moved up the coast. Here in Waxhaw we had nothing but hot night time temps and some wind. Unfortunately, in other places in NC they were not so lucky... several people died, one was an 11 year old boy who was killed when a tree ripped through his bedroom. It is so sad...
I know that Virginia had severe weather at the beaches and the New York was flooding in the lower lying areas. Our prayers go out to anyone in Irene's path, may God bless and keep you all! Please let us know how you are...we will be anxious to hear that everyone is OK.

  2. Did you ever imagine that you would write two consecutive entries, one about an earthquake and one about a hurricane?

  3. It is a little strange to be talking about so many natural occurrances in so few days... I hope that they will be the last for awhile! :)

  4. Elle, happy to hear that you and yours are safe. Our sorrow is great for those who weren't spared suffering, pain, and loss. Be well.

  5. Elle...just to let you know Callao,VA has survived Irene without too much damage. We were out of electricity for a week (thus for my lateness in responding), our metal roof on the boathouse was ripped off, and we had a small leak in our house roof...BUT thankfully, hubby & I are safe and well and still have a home! Glad to read you faired okay also :>

  6. Happy Day! I am glad that you and your family are alright! I know it must have been muggy and hot with no electricity to run a fan or a/c. Sorry about the damage, but I am glad that it wasn't worse! Hope all is well and getting back to normal. Thanks for the update! Elle
